Mitchell Mileage Club

This is a nationally recognized school running/walking program, with over 15,000 schools participating annually. The program provides an opportunity for students to channel their energy into a healthy activity, which promotes physical fitness, increases kids’ learning readiness and helps reduce playground hassles. In addition it allows students to set goal for themselves, work hard and gain a sense of accomplishment and self esteem.

Mitchell Mileage Club is held on September 7th, 9th, 12th, 14th & 16th on the upper playing field.

This is a fun & free optional fitness activity for students in 1st–5th grade. We typically meet at the following times:

first grade: 11–11:30

second grade: 11:55–12:20

third grade: 11:30–11:55

fourth grade: 12:45–1:15

fifth grade: 12:20- 12:45

We will run, walk, skip or cartwheel around a course on the upper playing field. students earn charm bracelets and other prizes to celebrate their effort and accomplishments. Over 300 students participate each day!

This is a fun volunteer job! it’s just 25 minutes and is outside during lunch time. Parent volunteers set up the course with cones, help the students find their cards, help the students track their laps and of course, cheer them on! you don’t need to do cartwheels to volunteer!
